The Dayton community is mourning the loss of Katie Allie Monopole, a former physical therapy assistant and dedicated advocate, whose passing has left family, friends, and colleagues in deep sorrow.
Katie, originally from Fort Thomas, Kentucky, was known for her compassion, resilience, and commitment to helping others. She most recently served as an administrative assistant at The Dirty Gym in Dayton, a role she began in January 2026.
Prior to that, she worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Dayton Pain & Injury, where she built a reputation for her empathy and attentiveness toward patients navigating recovery. Beyond her professional life, Katie was passionate about advocacy and service.
Since 2023, she had been involved with Dear Dinah as a women’s advocate, dedicating her time to supporting and uplifting others. She also participated in volunteer mission work, reflecting her strong desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Katie pursued her academic interests at Sinclair Community College, where she studied dermatology and aesthetic medicine beginning in August 2024. A graduate of Highlands High School, Class of 2017, she maintained lifelong friendships that remained central to her life.
News of her passing has prompted an outpouring of grief and heartfelt tributes. One close friend shared an emotional message, remembering Katie as a “best friend growing up” and “such a good soul,” capturing the profound impact she had on those around her.
Katie will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the lasting impression she made on her community.
